# Maintenance cost per fiscal period against the OPEX budget for it — the executive cost trend

> and the line to draw it against.

`budget` is the year's released figure divided by the calendar's own periods, which is an even
spread and not a phasing plan; a screen drawing it says so. Leaves only, because spending happens
against a leaf and summing every head would count the same money twice. Fleet-wide: a per-site
version is a different question and `api.budgets` answers it per head. One series per calendar, year
and currency — none of the three can be silently merged — and `unconverted_lines` counts cost lines
left out of `spend` for want of a rate. `has_started` is false for the rest of the year, where the
variance is the whole month's budget and means nothing yet.
