# Receive stock

> Take a delivery into stock, or record what was already on the shelf.

Without a unit cost the part's standard cost is used, because the moving average is computed from
inbound movements and a costless receipt dilutes it.

`p_occurred_at` and `p_transaction_type` are for an opening balance: stock that has been
there since before this product existed, dated as the customer says. One writer of inbound movements
rather than two.
