# Billing

> Your plan and trial status, your invoices, and what happens if a subscription lapses.

Where your organisation stands on its trial or subscription, your invoices, and — if a trial has run
out or an account has been closed — what to do about it.

## Your account

A summary of where things stand:

| Shown | Meaning |
| - | - |
| **Status** | On trial with days remaining, subscribed, invoiced by arrangement with your account manager, or the reason access is currently closed |
| **Held until** | Where your account is being kept open past its normal cutoff — while a purchase order clears, an invoice is settled, or by arrangement — the date that hold runs to |
| **Billed in** | Your billing currency |

## Invoices

Every invoice raised against your organisation: its number, when it was issued and when it is due,
the total and the outstanding balance, and its status in the biller's own words. Each opens the
actual invoice document to view.

<Note>
  This list is a mirror of the record kept by our billing system, not a second copy of it — the
  figures and the document you open are the same ones the biller holds, so what you see here is
  never a different total from what you were sent. If you do not have permission to see invoices,
  this says so; your administrator does.
</Note>

## While a trial is running

In the last week of a trial, a banner appears across the top of the application naming how many days
are left, with a way to choose a plan if you are able to, or a note that your administrator is the
one who can. It is not shown earlier than that — a countdown from day one is furniture people stop
noticing well before it matters.

## When a trial ends or an account is closed

Instead of the application, you are shown a plain screen with what you need to know: when the trial
ended, and the fact that nothing you set up has gone anywhere — your assets, your jobs and your
history are untouched, and choosing a plan puts you straight back where you left off.

* Where your organisation is being **held open** a little longer — waiting on a purchase order, a
  payment, or by arrangement — that is said, along with the date.
* Where your data has an actual **deletion date** because nothing has been subscribed, that date is
  shown too, with a promise of an email before it happens.
* If you are able to choose a plan yourself, a plan picker is shown here directly, priced by the
  server rather than calculated on the page — nothing is added up locally that the same figures
  could disagree with. If you cannot, you are told your administrator can, with a contact for the
  vendor's own sales team in case you are not sure who that is.

<Warning>
  This screen only ever reads two things — your own subscription state and, if you can choose a
  plan, the price of what you pick. If even those fail to load, the honest answer is that your
  session is broken rather than merely locked, and you are offered a sign-in rather than a payment
  form for an account nothing here can describe.
