# The sites register

> Every plant, depot and campus you operate — finding them, adding one, and what the register flags.

Every place you operate, on one screen.

## Columns

| Column | Notes |

| **Site** | Name and code — click to open |
| **Company** and **Business unit** | From [organisation structure](/config/organisation-structure) |

| **Assets** | How many assets stand here |
| **Locations** | How many locations are built under it |
| **Open work** | Open work orders at this site |
| **Working week** | How many days a week the site works. Flagged **not set** when it's zero — see below |
| **Staff**, **Holidays**, **Timezone**, **Site head**, **Alternate site head**, **Active** | Extra columns, off by default |

Search, filter, choose columns and export as on any [list](/get-started/navigating).

<Warning>
  A site with no working week measures every business-hours service level against nothing at all.
  The register totals how many sites are unconfigured and flags each one — a working week is not
  optional the way an address or a timezone is.

## Bulk edit

Tick sites, then **Edit in a grid** to change several at once in a spreadsheet, one row per site.
It needs [Import](/config/import) access, which is what gives the edit an undo.

## Adding a site

**New site** in the header. A site needs a name, a code, an address, a timezone and a working week —
build the location tree underneath it afterwards, on the site's own screen. See
[inside a site](/sites/detail).

## Location types and organisation structure

Two buttons in the header lead to the configuration behind the register, at the moment you're most
likely to need them:

* **Location types** — the vocabulary a location tree is built from (building, floor, line, room).
  See [location types](/config/location-types).
* **Organisation** — companies, business units, cost centres and departments, which is where a site's
  business unit comes from. See [organisation structure](/config/organisation-structure).
