Capex - Change Logs answers “who changed this, and when” for the capex screens: every field changed on a plan, a proposal, its planning, its capitalization, its approval notes or a T&C appraisal note, with what it was and what it became, and every step of each one’s approval. Change Logs is under the Capex heading in the Finance group of the navigation, for people holding View the change log of capex proposals, their planning and their capitalization. It is a screen of its own, for the capex team, rather than the administrator’s Audit trail of everything.
If you don’t see this in your navigation, your administrator can switch the module on under Administration → Modules (it is part of Capex planning), or it may not be included in your plan.

Choosing a log

Change log of at the front of the toolbar chooses which log you read. Each is offered only to people who may read the screen it records, and shows only the records on units and plans you can reach. The screen remembers your last choice on this device. Search the log, saved Views, Filter and Columns work as on any register, and keep your columns and filters as you move between logs, so “everything one person changed this month” can be asked of each. Search matches the record’s ID and name, who changed it, the field and the remarks; filter the Old Value and New Value columns to narrow by what was changed. Export downloads the rows the log is showing, and needs Download the capex change log as a spreadsheet.

The columns

A record’s creation is one row per field it was created with, and its removal a row of its own. Its approval is a row for the request — Approval status, going from Pending to Approved, Rejected, Sent for revision or another outcome — and a row for each level, named by the workflow’s own level, as it was reached and decided: Approved, Rejected, Rolled back, Sent back, Skipped and so on. A change made when an approved request was carried out names whoever last approved that request, not the person it was carried out for. The rows a proposal’s own approval wrote on its planning and its capitalization plan name whoever last approved the proposal.
